I am wondering if anyone has any hints for a strong horse around show jumps? Dressage and XC we are fine - finished event with good score in the dressage, within the time in XC but in the SJ had a refusal. I think it is me more than him, there was a water tray which he just stopped at. He is no problem at home and in our training sessions with the trainer but he was very stubborn in the SJ ring today, seemed he did not want to listen to anything or do as asked. I wanted to be more assertive and I fear I am half the problem. What are your best tips for jumps?
Do you have a trainer? I would suggest a few lessons with a really experienced trainer who can help show you a different perspective from the ground.
