During the last month, I noticed that my 14 year old gelding has developed two small bumps, one on each shoulder. They haven't grown , they are about an inch each and they seem to have stayed this size. They seem to cause her any pain or annoy her At first I thought they were bug bites, but they haven't gone away, they are solid, they are not hot to the touch. Do these sound like sarcoids? I know there is not a lot you can do to manage them if they are. Do you tend to find that after you find couple, you will find more, or do horse's normally just get one or two? Do flies spread them and if so should I start to use fly traps on top of my Spalding Fly Predators to catch any stray flies that come in from other farms,
Thanks in advance for any of your experiences on Sarcoids.
It doesn't sound like sarcoids - do you have a photo? Have you asked your veterinarian at all?
