  • Betsy,

Insect growth regulators (IGRs) commonly used in feed thru supplements are not harmful to Fly Predators.  Those substances must be ingested by larvae to have any effect (IGRs prevent larval insects from transforming properly to their pupal stage).  Fly Predator larvae develop inside healthy fly pupae.  Any fly larvae that developed successfully to the pupal stage would not have levels of IGR damaging to Fly Predator larvae.  Fly larvae that do ingest enough never successfully become healthy fly pupae.  So, actually the two methods combined can work together quite well.

    Thank you,

    Jessica
